Jeff Sonderman is the deputy director of the American Press Institute. He is an adjunct faculty and former digital media fellow of The Poynter Institute and also teaches digital journalism at Georgetown University. Some specific areas of his professional focus include mobile technology, social media, diversified business models, audience-focused research and content strategies, and journalism’s shift from product to service. Jeff’s journalism background includes digital news — helping to launch TBD.com, a local digital news startup in Washington, D.C. — and newspapers, as the internet content director and metro editor of The Times-Tribune in Scranton, Pa. He graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism and spent years reporting and editing award-winning coverage of health care, business and transportation.
