Eric Lieberman is Vice President and General Counsel of Fusion, a new cable network co-owned by ABC and Univision that launches on October 28. Prior to joining Fusion, Eric was General Counsel for The Washington Post. Eric – who spent 15 years at The Post - has advised journalists on all aspects of media law, from newsgathering issues and IP rights to protecting anonymous sources. Before joining The Post’s in-house legal team in 1998, Eric was a litigator for six years at the Washington law firm Williams & Connolly. Prior to that, Eric clerked for Chief Judge James L. Oakes on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Early in his career Eric was a legislative aide on Sen. Edward M. Kennedy’s Labor Committee staff. Eric grew up in Durham, N.C. and received his undergraduate degree from Harvard and his J.D. degree from Duke Law School.
