Google for Media: Atlanta: Google is hosting a free, day-long summit with speakers, panels and hands-on workshops with Google product experts, capped by an evening reception at Der Biergarten, starting at 5:30 p.m. Speakers include journalists from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, BBC, La Nacion (Argentina), The Weather Channel, Center for doudoune abercrombie homme Investigative Reporting and more with sessions ranging from collaborative reporting to why local data matters. Screening of “The Fifth Estate”: Participant Media is hosting a screening for 275 ONA13 attendees on the night before the release of the feature film “The Fifth Estate” — a dramatic thriller inspired by real events, Details here. Transportation will be provided.

Friday

ONA Local Meetup: If you’re involved or interested in being involved in ONA Local, at 4 p.m., make your way to the Midway for the ONA Local Meetup.

ONA13 Networking Mixer: After the Shine Theory keynote, come grab a snack and make new contacts at the Friday Night Networking Event, sponsored by Disney Parks News Bureau. There’ll be plenty of business card-swapping and photo ops.

#wjchat + #socjourn meetup:  The groups are co-hosting a gathering at TopFlr, a cocktail bar near the host hotel, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

OpenNews makerspace party: The Knight-Mozilla OpenNews project is hosting demos of 3-D printing, laser cutting and lots of hands-on “making” at Freeside Atlanta, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Saturday

Online Journalism Awards: Put on your fancy shoes and louis vuitton toile damier join ONA and our academic partner, the University of Miami School of Communication, as we celebrate the outstanding work of Online Journalism Awards finalists at the awards dinner and sweat abercrombie presentation. After the Party…: NEW addition this year: Post-awards, CNN will be hosting a party to celebrate the end of another successful ONA and honor the OJA award winners. Location: TBD.
