Fiona Spruill

Fiona Spruill recently left The New York Times after 14 years. In her last role there, she served as the editor in charge of all NYT products on phones and tablets. She was the newsroom's lead on the development of all new mobile products, and worked closely with business-side and software colleagues to define the company's mobile strategy. Before moving into this role, Fiona managed The Times’ Web newsroom, which was made up of 80 producers and editors. Fiona joined The Times in 1999 and served as a business and international news producer; an editor of the site's home page, most notably on Sept. 11, 2001; and deputy editor in charge of the features sections, during which time she served as the editorial lead on the last redesign of NYTimes.com and the development of the movies, theater and travel sections on NYTimes.com. She is a graduate of Duke.
