Ashley Lohmann is a Los Angeles-based media entrepreneur with a passion for cross-cultural understanding and a background in Middle East-related issues. She has worked as an academic researcher, political analyst, and multimedia journalist and is a former editor for Fair Observer, a multidisciplinary and multinational online publication. In 2012, Ashley launched Beyond the Bombs, a transmedia project using storytelling to redefine how the world views, understands, and connects with the Middle East and North Africa. Through the project, she aspires to help others share stories and build cross-border relationships based on understanding rather than fear. Ashley is a graduate of Stanford University, a 2013 Online News Association MJ Bear Fellow, a delegate to the 2013 Annual Summit of the American Middle Eastern Network for Dialogue at Stanford, and a participant in the 2013 United Nation Alliance of Civilizations-Education First Summer School.
